WELCOME

Established in 2010, the peaceful, country setting of our high school is conducive to stimulation of enquiring minds and the development of well-balanced leaders of the future - an educational environment unlike anything you or your child will have experienced before.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality education, care and supervision for all learners with the goal of assisting them in growing, developing and achieving their true potential. We aim to expose our learners to as much as possible in order to broaden their knowledge and view of the world.

Learners will feel a genuine sense of belonging, such as BESA being a 'home away from home'.

Everything from sports and excursions to the World

Extra-Curricular

Our extra-curricular program is secondary to academic work. Our primary focus is on preparing our learners for the future, therefore our emphasis on extra-mural activities is ensuring that our learners enjoy participating and being part of a team, rather than having added pressure to perform and achieve outstanding results.

Sport & Recreation

Our main focus at BESA is on academic excellence, however, we offer various sporting activities for our learners depending on interest. Emphasis is placed on participation and enjoyment. We currently offer soccer, netball, equestrian, touch rugby, athletics (track and field) and non-competitive archery and swimming.

Cultural Activities

We participate in eisteddfod and public speaking events throughout the year and pay specific attention to participation in the World Scholar's Cup - 2016 and 2017 saw our learners travel to Thailand and Cape Town respectively, representing South Africa at the finals. For futher information and to see what all the fuss is about, click here.

Annual Tours

We host annual tours that are mainly academic based. Over the past eight years, our learners have had the opportunity to tour various places both locally and internationally. Destinations include Durban, Cape Town, Thailand, Singapore, England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago.

Excursions & Camps

Throughout the year learners go on various educational outings with the intention of exposing them to as much as possible. Previous excursions include visits to The Apartheid Museum, Maropeng, The SABC, and The Tutankhamun Exhibition. Other excursions also include Grade 10-12 Maths, Geography and Life Sciences camps.

Other Activities

Other activities throughout the year include the Grade 12 Matric Farewell, the selection of a Leadership Body, CANSA Shavathon/Sprayathon as well as various school entrepreneurial days and social fundraising events. We also visit many different charity organisations and raise funds where possible to assist the greater community.
